SSC CGL Exam Pattern

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Tier-I. In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks in Paper-II and 0.50
marks in Paper-I and Paper-III for each wrong answer. Check SSC CGL Exam Pattern in the below section.

  • The CGL Tier 3 Descriptive Paper will be in English or Hindi.
  • Consist Essay Writing (200 to 250 Words), Letter writing (150 to 200 Words).
  • The Exam Duration is One Hour.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 33% only.
  • Pen and Paper mode Exam.


  • Those qualified aspirants of Tier I, Tier II and Tier III will further be called for Tier IV.
  • The CGL Tier-4 consists Data Entry Skill and Computer Proficiency Test (CPT).
  • Tax Assistant vacancy applicants have to participate in Skill Test.
